Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty have advanced to the men’s doubles final of the Swiss Open Super Series 300 badminton event. The Indian pair defeated third seeds Ong Yew Sin and Teo Ee Yi of Malaysia in a thrilling semifinal that lasted one hour and nine minutes. The duo will face the unseeded Chinese pair of Ren Xiang Yu and Tan Qiang in the summit clash on Sunday. The victory came after a hard-fought 84-minute quarter-final battle. Satwik and Chirag are the only Indian contenders left in the tournament, where the likes of PV Sindhu and Lakshya Sen suffered early defeats. A tournament win will be a good comeback for the pair after a disappointing early round exit at the All England Championships.
