On Friday, Rahul Gandhi attended a party meeting in Mallikarjun Kharge’s chamber, just one day after being found guilty in a defamation case from 2019. During the meeting, he made a comment that has become a topic of conversation. He stated that if he were to touch someone, they would claim he was wiping his nose on their back. This comment was directed towards the BJP.
Recently, a tweet from the BJP gave a twist to a video of Rahul Gandhi offering to help Kharge down the stairs. The BJP claimed that Rahul Gandhi used Kharge as “tissue paper” while maintaining his hand on his back. This tweet has caused controversy and has been condemned by many.
Rahul Gandhi is currently in a difficult situation as he could be barred from the Lok Sabha after being found guilty of defamation in 2019. In his defense, his counsel has stated that neither the plaintiff Gujarat minister Purnesh Modi nor anybody else was harmed by the remark. Additionally, a few days ago, Gandhi was the subject of adjourning the parliament due to a comment he made during a speech in the UK.
Despite these challenges, Rahul Gandhi remains an active member of the Congress party and continues to attend party meetings and events.
