The barricades outside the UK High Commission in Delhi have been removed by police, following a Khalistani demonstration outside the Indian High Commission in London. However, officials have reported that security measures outside the British High Commission in Delhi remain in place. The obstructions that were preventing commutation have been taken down, but protection in front of the UK High Commission continues.

The protest in London was sparked by the crackdown on Amritpal Singh, and resulted in the Indian Tricolor being pulled down outside the building. This caused outrage across the nation and heated discussions on social media. In response, the Indian government has urged the British government to provide adequate protection at the Indian High Commission.

The lack of protection at the Indian embassy in London prompted India to call the British deputy high commissioner on Sunday night for inquiries. Meanwhile, senior British authorities have called the actions of the demonstrators “disgraceful” and “totally unacceptable.” They have pledged that the UK government will take the security of the Indian High Commission seriously.
