India’s cricket captain, Rohit Sharma, has assured that Suryakumar Yadav will be given a longer run in the one-day international (ODI) format after he failed to impress in the two ODIs against Australia in the ongoing series. Suryakumar Yadav is currently the world’s number one batter in T20Is, having scored 433 runs in 22 ODIs for India since his debut, with 34 not out being his highest score. However, he fell to Mitchell Starc for first-ball ducks in both the ODIs against Australia, and Sunday’s game was SKY’s 16th ODI without a fifty. Rohit said that Suryakumar will get more ODIs so that he feels comfortable with the format, and that he needs that consistent run, like back-to-back games, 7-8 or 10 games like that so that he feels more comfortable.
