The Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) has cancelled three exams due to paper leaks. The Group 1 Prelims exam conducted on October 16, 2020, was cancelled after the Special Investigation Team (SIT) confirmed the paper was leaked. The AEE (Assistant Executive Engineer) and DAO (Divisional Accounts Officer) exams held on January 22 and February 26, respectively, were also cancelled. The commission announced that the Group 1 Prelims test will be conducted on June 11, 2023, while the dates for the other two exams will be announced soon.

The SIT investigation revealed that the main accused in the paper leak scam was Rajashekhar, who, with the help of Assistant Section Officer Praveen, hacked into the computers and retrieved the question papers. The main accused stored the papers on a pen drive and sold them to outsiders. The report also disclosed that Gurukul teacher Renuka sold the question papers to outsiders for a hefty sum.

The SIT has explained to TSPSC Chairman B Janardhan Reddy about the poor maintenance of systems without adequate cyber security. Lower rung officials were given access to confidential rooms maintained by top officials during examination time, which was cited as the main reason behind the paper leak.

The local court granted police custody of the accused. Job aspirants in Telangana have been affected by these irregularities, and the TSPSC has taken measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
