The Chief Minister of Telangana, KCR, has expressed his shock over the recent fire incident at Swapnalok Complex in Secunderabad. He conveyed his deepest condolences to the bereaved families and announced an ex gratia of Rs.5 lakh for the deceased. The Chief Minister has also directed the concerned officials to provide better treatment to the injured and assured that the government will support the families of the deceased and the injured in all ways possible.
The incident occurred on Thursday, where six people lost their lives in a massive fire accident at the Swapnalok Complex. Twelve people managed to escape safely, while the six who were unconscious after inhaling the surrounding smoke were taken to Gandhi Hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, their condition had already worsened, and despite the doctors’ best efforts, they could not be saved.
The fire started on the eighth floor of the complex and quickly spread to the 7th, 6th, and 5th floors. Firefighters immediately reached the spot and worked hard to control the fire. A total of 15 fire engines were used to bring the fire under control.
The Chief Minister has advised Home Minister Mahmood Ali and Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav to be at the field level and examine the situation and take necessary measures. The government is committed to ensuring that such incidents do not occur in the future and will take all necessary steps to prevent them.
