Recently, Kishan, the chairman of the Sangeet Natak Akademi in Hyderabad, wrote a letter to the Chief Minister of Telangana, K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), requesting 10 acres of land for the academy’s expansion. In his letter, Kishan explained that the academy has been functioning in a rented building for the past 20 years and that it needs a permanent space to carry out its activities.

Kishan also pointed out that the academy has been receiving a lot of support from the Telangana government, and that the state has been promoting art and culture in a big way. He mentioned that the government had recently allocated funds for the renovation of the academy’s building and that this had greatly improved its facilities.

However, Kishan emphasized that a permanent space was needed to fully realize the academy’s potential. He explained that the academy had been conducting several programs and workshops throughout the year, and that it required a larger space to accommodate more participants. He also mentioned that the academy had plans to set up a library, a museum, and an archive of Indian classical music and dance, which would require additional space.

He pointed out that this would not only benefit the academy but also promote art and culture in Telangana. Kishan also expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister for his support and encouragement towards the academy’s activities.

The Sangeet Natak Akademi has played a crucial role in promoting Indian classical music, dance, and theatre over the years. It has recognized several artists and performers for their contributions to these art forms and has organized several festivals and events that have brought together artists from different parts of India. With a permanent space in Hyderabad, the academy can further its mission of promoting Indian culture and heritage and provide a platform for artists to showcase their talent.
