    Hyderabad: Ganesh Chaturthi is a major festival celebrated across India. In Telangana, Hyderabad’s Khairatabad Bada Ganesh attracts devotees from all over the country during this time. However, during the 11-day festival, SHE Teams in Hyderabad arrested 996 individuals for misbehaving with women devotees at Khairatabad Bada Ganesh and other crowded areas in the city.

    These individuals were caught in the act, engaging in inappropriate behavior towards women in public spaces. The police collected video and photo evidence to support their actions. Petty cases under Section 70(c) of the CP Act and 292 BNS have been registered against them, and they will be presented before a magistrate along with the evidence. In cases where video evidence could not be captured, the offenders were given a strict warning in the presence of their family members.

    The SHE Teams have been working tirelessly around the clock to ensure the safety and security of all citizens, especially women, during the festival.
