Hyderabad City Bureau, July 5 (Namaste Telangana): The Regional Passport Officer of Hyderabad, Dasari Balayya, announced in a press statement on Wednesday that special passport drives will be conducted on Saturday, July 8. It was revealed that these drives have been organized in response to the increasing demand for passport services over the past four Saturdays.
In addition to the five Passport Seva Kendras in the city, passport services are also available at the Nizamabad and Karimnagar districts, as well as 14 post offices. Appointments related to these services can be made through the passport web portal. It was stated that a total of 3,641 appointments will be released this Saturday.
The special passport drives have been planned to cater to the needs of individuals who are unable to visit the passport office on weekdays due to work or other commitments. By conducting these drives on Saturdays, it is expected that more people will have access to passport services without any inconvenience.
The Regional Passport Officer emphasized that individuals who have already booked appointments should arrive at the designated passport office at their allotted time. He also urged people to bring all the necessary documents and proofs required for the passport application process to avoid any delays or rejections.
It is important to note that these special drives are not applicable for Tatkal or re-issue cases. Only fresh passport applications will be processed during these drives. The Regional Passport Officer assured that the necessary arrangements have been made to ensure a smooth and efficient process for all applicants.
This initiative by the Hyderabad Passport Office is commendable as it aims to provide convenient and accessible passport services to the citizens of Hyderabad and surrounding areas. It is expected that these special drives will help in reducing the backlog of passport applications and make the process more convenient for individuals who are unable to visit the office on weekdays.
