An 82-year-old woman has made headlines by filing her nomination for the assembly elections. She is the wife of a warrior who fought for the liberation of Hyderabad and freed the state. This has caused quite a commotion.
The woman’s name is Cheeti Shyamala and she is from the Kurikyas community in Gangadhara Mandal, Karimnagar District. She currently resides in Jagitya. Her husband, Muralidhar Rao, was also a freedom fighter. However, Shyamala had to file the nomination due to a dispute with her elder son over their house. She claims that her son, Rama Rao, tried to sell the house using fake documents. The case is now being investigated in court. Shyamala also accuses her son of not taking care of her and having to live in a rented place in old age.
Shyamala expressed her sadness that despite seeking justice from important people in the country, she has not received any help. She decided to file the nomination in Jagityal to highlight the unfair treatment she has faced at the age of 82.
In addition, Shyamala’s relatives have stated that she is being threatened by individuals using the name of the state’s Chief Minister, KCR.
