Police Conduct Surprise Search Operation in Wanaparthy
Wanaparthy police carried out a surprise cordon and search operation in Ramnagar Colony on Sunday. The operation was led by Wanaparthy DSP Venkateshwar Rao.
During the search, officers inspected around 300 houses. They seized 66 vehicles that had no proper documentation or number plates. These included one car, three auto-rickshaws, and 62 two-wheelers. The vehicles were taken to the police station, and the owners were asked to provide valid documents to get them back.
The DSP explained that the purpose of such operations is to reduce crime, improve public safety, and make residents feel secure. He said these searches help identify criminals or suspicious individuals hiding in the area.
He also warned that strict action would be taken against those involved in illegal activities. This includes the sale of banned gutka and illicit liquor, smuggling of PDS rice, illegal transport of timber, and drug-related offenses.
The DSP urged the public to report any illegal activities or disturbances to the police. He advised them to call Dial 100 if they see youth gathering for open drinking or notice suspicious persons in their neighborhood. He assured that the identity of informants would be kept confidential.
Rao also emphasized the importance of installing CCTV cameras in residential areas to enhance security and prevent crime. Additionally, he warned people not to share OTPs or PIN numbers to avoid falling victim to cyber fraud. If anyone is scammed online, they should immediately call 1930 or Dial 100 for help.
Several police officials participated in the operation, including Wanaparthy CI M Krishna, Kothakota CI Rambabu, town SI Hariprasad, rural SI Jalender Reddy, and other personnel from various police stations.
