South Central Railway will be running around 620 special trains for Dussehra. These trains will operate from various locations to the two Telugu States and neighboring states. The aim is to make the journey hassle-free during the festival season in October. The trains will start from major railway stations in Hyderabad including Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Kacheguda, and Lingampalli. Many people travel between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh during this time to visit destinations like Vijayawada, Machilipatnam, Kakinada, Tirupati, and Visakhapatnam.
Around 200 trips are scheduled between the two Telugu States. As schools declare Dussehra vacation for students, families also plan pilgrimages to various places in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and other states. The South Central Railway officer mentioned that around 140 trains each are planned to take passengers outside the SCR zone and bring passengers from other states into their zone during the festive season. Additional ticket counters and guidance will be provided with sufficient staff to assist passengers.
To avoid inconvenience, the railway stations are being renovated. Security measures, including physical security and CCTV surveillance, are in place. The monitoring will be done at three levels – station, division, and zone level. During the night, RPF personnel will accompany trains with a focus on crime-prone areas and major junctions.
