Hyderabad: 62% Grievances Resolved Under Prajavani Programme

About 62% of grievances submitted under the Prajavani programme, launched by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on December 8, 2023, have been resolved. The programme, conducted at Praja Bhavan, has become a bridge between citizens and the administration.

Under Prajavani, citizens can personally visit Praja Bhavan every Tuesday and Friday to submit their grievances. The initiative ensures direct interaction with senior officials, including a cabinet-ranked Planning Board Vice Chairman, who are present to provide immediate assistance when necessary. Each petitioner receives an acknowledgment slip with a unique ID to track the progress of their complaint.

From December 8, 2023, to December 9, 2024, a total of 84 Prajavani sessions were conducted. During this time, 82,955 petitions were submitted, out of which 43,272 were registered as grievances. Officials reported that 62% of the grievances, amounting to 27,215 cases, were resolved. Additionally, 4,713 petitions related to employee service matters were registered, while 34,970 applications were fresh submissions for various government schemes or benefits. These were forwarded to the respective departments for processing under Praja Palana programme guidelines.

The programme has seen several success stories. One notable case involved a woman named Tania, who sought financial assistance for her premature twin babies facing severe health complications. The administration coordinated with a hospital and mobilized resources through the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF), corporate social responsibility (CSR) contributions, and crowdfunding campaigns. Their efforts paid off as one of the babies recovered fully and was discharged in good health.

In another instance, a farmer named Kommanaboina Pichaiah received his long-awaited Patta Pass Book after 46 years. Despite repeated attempts, he had been unable to secure the document for land assigned to him. Thanks to Prajavani’s intervention and persistent follow-up, the Tahsildar finally issued the pass book, bringing much-needed relief to the farmer after decades of struggle.

The Prajavani programme continues to stand out as an effective platform for addressing public grievances and ensuring government accountability in Telangana.
