    The 49th edition of the All India Competitions in Music & Dance began today in Hyderabad. The event is organized by Navya Nataka Samiti in partnership with the Telangana Sangeetha Nataka Akademi. It was launched with a grand ceremony at Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University in Nampally.

    Hon. Justice Laxmi Narayana Alishetty from the Telangana High Court inaugurated the event by lighting a ceremonial lamp. This marked the official start of the prestigious competition.

    Several important guests attended the ceremony. Smt. G. Vasundhara, the Deputy Director of Treasuries & Accounts, and Sri T. Srinivas, the Chief Financial Officer of Bharat Biotech, were present as Guests of Honour. The event was led by Smt. U.V.L. Ananda, Chairperson of the Organising Committee. Other distinguished guests included Sri Padala Bhikshapathi, Chairman of Roots Collegium, and special guest Sri V. Ananda Mohan, from Sangeetha Ksheerasagaram.

    After the inauguration, the competition began with performances in various categories. These included Junior, Sub-junior, and Senior groups, as well as Violin and dance forms like Kathak, Kuchipudi, and Bharathanatyam. The event will continue for eight days, showcasing the talents of participants from all over India.

    The competition is sponsored by the YMCAs of Greater Hyderabad. Since 1958, Navya Nataka Samiti has been promoting India’s rich cultural heritage in fine arts, and this event continues that proud tradition.
