Rangareddy District Sees Huge Response for Indiramma Housing Scheme

A newly launched mobile app designed to identify eligible applicants for the Indiramma Housing Scheme has received an overwhelming response in Ranga Reddy district, with nearly four lakh applications submitted. District Collector C. Narayana Reddy shared updates during a review meeting, revealing that 3,75,013 applications have been received so far from across the district. He instructed officials to conduct thorough field verifications to ensure that only deserving beneficiaries are selected. Panchayat secretaries, ward officers, and other officials have been tasked with completing the verification process within the stipulated timeline.

The Collector announced that 3,500 houses will be built in each constituency of the district under the scheme. To ensure accuracy and fairness, a specially trained team of officials has been assigned to scrutinize applications at both the municipal and mandal levels. These teams have been directed to strictly adhere to the guidelines while collecting and uploading details through the dedicated mobile app, leaving no room for errors.

To support the verification process, control rooms will be established in every mandal and municipality. These will address any doubts or issues faced by the teams conducting the door-to-door surveys. The Collector emphasized the need for meticulous data collection and warned of strict action against officials found to be negligent or involved in irregularities.

In the first phase of the scheme, financial assistance of ₹5 lakh will be provided to applicants who own land for house construction. Those without land will be included in the second phase, explained DC Naik, the district project director for housing.

The door-to-door surveys to identify eligible applicants have already commenced in some areas and are expected to gain momentum starting Friday. Officials aim to complete the task by the month-end. This initiative is seen as a crucial step toward providing housing to families in need and ensuring transparency in the selection process.
