    It has been six years since the implementation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST). Initially it seems difficult to implement it but the government is earning steady money which raised to Rs. 1.5 Lakh Crores In May, that raised to Rs 1.61 lakh crore, the second highest amount in a year according to reports released in June. The government is trying to prevent people from paying taxes. They are also trying to figure out how to set tax rates fairly. It is estimated that people have avoided paying about Rs. 20,000 crore of taxes in FY23 Speaking to CNBC-TV18, Vivek Johri, the chairman of the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) told that,The government is working hard to prevent people from paying taxes and being cheated. They are trying to catch those who are running businesses to recover money from the government by making fake invoices. They have already found 24,000 fake invoices and found that these people tried to get Rs 63,000 crore which they are not entitled to. On an estimation 8000 Cases has been filed so far. They are awaiting a report on how to make the tax system fairer for things like Casino and online gaming.
