Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing (H-NEW) team, in collaboration with Humayun Nagar police, arrested a foreign national for drug peddling. They seized 50 grams of MDMA from him during the operation.
The arrested person is Mohammed Abdul Rehman Osman, a 24-year-old from Tolichowki. He is originally from South Darfur in Sudan. According to the police, Osman first came to India in 2016 on a one-year student visa and stayed in Tolichowki, Hyderabad.
In 2018, Osman obtained a four-year student visa, which is valid until December 1, 2025. He enrolled in a three-year BCA course at Glocal University in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh. However, in July 2024, he returned to Hyderabad and moved back to Tolichowki.
To support himself financially, Osman turned to drug peddling. He started buying drugs from foreign nationals, including Nigerians, Tanzanians, Sudanese, and Palestinians, as well as local suppliers. He would purchase the drugs at a low price and sell them at a higher price in Hyderabad for profit.
In this particular case, Osman sourced the drugs from Bangalore and sold them in Hyderabad. He received payments through mule bank accounts via GPay and PhonePe.
On Thursday evening, the H-NEW team, along with the Humayun Nagar police, arrested Osman and confiscated 50 grams of MDMA.
