BRS celebrated its 23rd foundation day with a commitment to continue fighting for the people. This is the first foundation day since losing power to Congress in the State. The party’s working president K T Rama Rao led the celebrations by hoisting the party flag at Telangana Bhavan.
KTR paid his respects to “Telangana thalli” or mother Telangana. The party, formerly known as TRS, was founded by K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) in 2001 to push for Telangana statehood.
KTR highlighted KCR’s efforts in launching the party for Telangana’s cause despite facing challenges. He emphasized that the Telangana movement, led by KCR, served as a model for other states and democratic movements. KTR expressed gratitude to the people for their support in achieving the goal of a separate Telangana state.
Despite facing opposition from united Andhra forces, KCR ensured that the voice of Telangana people was heard in legislative bodies. KTR credited the mandate given to the party in 2014 to the people’s belief in KCR’s leadership. He mentioned the progress made by TRS during its rule in positioning Telangana at the forefront nationally.
To extend this progress to other parts of the country, the party changed its name to BRS, aiming to become a national party. While BRS gained popularity in states like Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Odisha, the results of the Telangana Assembly elections were disappointing. However, KTR assured that KCR is committed to completing any task undertaken, drawing on his track record of the past two and a half decades.
