In Hyderabad, 213 prisoners were released from various prisons in Telangana after the State government granted them remission. The prisoners had been serving time in Central Prisons in Sangareddy, Nizamabad, Hyderabad, Cherlapally, Warangal, and other jails in the State. Among the released prisoners, 35 were women who had been convicted of different crimes. The State government decided to release these prisoners based on factors like their behavior during their jail term, the length of their sentence, and the seriousness of their cases.

After their release, Director General of Prisons and Corrections Services, Dr. Soumya Mishra, and other senior officers spoke with some of the prisoners. As part of a rehabilitation program, the Telangana prisons department plans to offer jobs at ‘My Nation Fuel Stations’ to 70 of the released prisoners, including three women. Additionally, eight women were given sewing machines to help them start a tailoring business and support themselves financially.
