The Telangana Information Technology Association (TITA) is actively involving the IT industry in the upcoming 2023 Telangana General Assembly Elections. TITA president Sundeep Kumar Makthala is leading the association’s efforts to encourage democratic participation.
In terms of direct IT employees, 62.5% of the workforce, which amounts to 6,25,000 voters, hold voting rights. Additionally, 69.8% of the support workforce, including housekeeping, security, electricians, drivers, transportation crew, HR, payroll, and more, possess voting rights. This results in a significant number of 22,68,500 voters. In total, the IT industry electorate consists of an unprecedented 28,93,500 voters.
TITA has launched extensive voting awareness campaigns to encourage high voter turnout from the IT industry. The association has worked hard to dispel misconceptions, such as concerns about low turnout due to the long weekend. President Sundeep Kumar Makthala has dismissed rumors of decreased voter participation and stated that the IT community is ready to make a significant impact on polling day. He has emphasized that TITA’s relentless voter awareness campaigns have addressed any concerns about the long weekend deterring IT employees from exercising their democratic right. The association anticipates heightened participation on November 30, facilitated by existing work-from-home options. TITA urges all eligible IT voters to cast their votes on this day and contribute to the democratic vibrancy of Telangana.
