The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has found 17 accident-prone areas on NH-65, which runs between Hyderabad and Vijayawada. State Roads and Buildings minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy recently met with NHAI and department officials to discuss road safety on the state’s national highways.

These 17 spots on NH-65 are known for having a high volume of traffic and are considered dangerous for accidents. They include places like Chautuppal, Pedakaparti, Chityal, Kattangur, and more. The NHAI has determined that most road accidents occur in these specific areas.

To address the issue, the State government plans to take preventive measures such as installing sign boards, expanding roads to six lanes in certain locations, improving junctions, building vehicle underpasses, and creating two-way service roads. Minister Reddy assured that these initiatives will be implemented promptly to reduce accidents at these black spots.
