The Rachakonda SHE teams in Hyderabad arrested a total of 147 individuals for harassing women and young girls, including 60 minors. The arrests were made in response to 183 complaints received from May 16 to 31.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (women’s safety wing) Usha Vishwanath stated that the cases involved 30 instances of phone harassment, 42 through social media, and 111 cases of direct harassment. Following the complaints, over 11 criminal cases were filed, with 83 involving minors.
The SHE teams are dedicated to ensuring the safety of women and girls in the region. They work to address and prevent incidents of harassment, providing support to those who have been targeted.
