    The Telangana government has appointed 1,061 Assistant Professors to work in teaching hospitals across 34 different fields. The Health Minister, T Harish Rao, spoke during the appointment ceremony and encouraged the new recruits to compete with corporate hospitals and provide services to those who cannot afford private healthcare. He also asked doctors to treat patients like family members and to speak to them with patience and kindness. The minister stated that he will hold regular meetings with the new recruits to monitor their progress. The government has spent Rs 1 crore on each doctor’s training, and the minister said that they should pay back to society.

    The Health Department in Telangana has completed the recruitment process and issued appointment orders within five months. The government has made over 27,263 new appointments in the Health Department alone under CM K Chandrashekar Rao’s rule. The Minister praised doctors for providing free organ transplants to the poor, making Hyderabad the city with the highest number of kidney transplants in the country. Harish Rao also spoke about the progress made in medical education, noting that the number of medical colleges in Telangana has increased from 20 to 55.

    The number of MBBS seats has increased significantly, from 2,950 in 2014 to 8,340 presently. This represents a 71% increase nationwide, with Telangana’s increase standing at an impressive 124%.
